Dotty
Here she is. Dotty was a guest at the sanctuary for over a year and now she is in her loving forever home not to far from the beach....perfect!! She's loving it and her new owner is loving her but who wouldn't, dotty is a fabulous loving dog and very much deserves a wonderful life especially after her past experience.
There's always room for update pictures of Dotty on this page Linda.

Here are a few words from Tilly:
How about this? Four ex-Mayflower dogs all living happily together in our new home. I'm Tilly, the scruffy looking one in the middle, and I was the first to find my forever home with my new owners. I sort of 'mother' the others who all came later, and I boss them around sometimes, (well, age has it's advantages doesn't it?) The good looking one on the left is Dylan, he's rather aloof and very posh, but he's great to be with and he loves everybody. The very pretty brown one is Millie. Believe it or not she's still a pup of only 11 months, but she's very soft and cuddly and also loves to play. She came to us when she was 9 weeks old and I've sort of been her Mum ever since. The cute little black one is Charlie. He's also very puppyish and has fitted into our little pack very well. I don't know what sort of life he had before but when he first came to us he didn't even know what a dog basket was for, and he'd never seen a toy in his life, I'd swear to it. Now he can run and run and play all day.We all had sad tales of abuse or abandonment to tell about how we came to be in the Sanctuary in the first place, but we're all happy and settled together now with our loving owners, who spoil us terribly. Aren't we four lucky little dogs?
Tilly. (World's tiniest Irish Wolfhound, well, that's what someone said recently)

While doing a street collection a man approached one of our girls with this beautiful boy tucked under his arm.  After a short conversation it was made clear that he was selling this puppy, selling him to anyone on the street who would offer him  money.&n bsp; We could not let this happen, who knows where he was destined to go.  One of our girls bought this puppy with the sole intention of finding him a good home.
It turned out that Gucci was very poorly and had to be hospitalised for nearly a week.  Thank goodness he pulled through.  He is now in a loving new home.....one very lucky puppy!

  Words by Colin's owners:

"We have had Colin since he was 8 weeks old and we love him to bits. He has recently turned one and we bought him a paddling pool for his birthday and he loves it so much! He loves water with a passion. If he sees a puddle he has to pounce in it! Colin is a perfect companion and he is always making us smile"

Penny (new name Pepper), went to live with Merlin and his owners in Sept 06.
Looking at these photo's I think you could say she's home.

Jake came into the Mayflower Sanctuary after being found covered in beer and curry.
He was in a terrible state, very thin and obviously neglected. He now lives happily with his new owners and is totally spoilt.

Words by Poppy/new owner:

Its OK round here, there’s two cats for company (or to chase!!) & I think I’ve pretty well got my new mum & big brother well & truly under my thumb……….life couldn’t get much better. I get two to three walks a day which means as much eau de fox pooh know the one….. by le Vixen) as any girl could wish for & the social circle round here, hedgehog, frog & well you know the rest without me name dropping.
Well mum says now that we’ve got better acquainted & she knows me a bit better, like my recall (thought that was an Arnie film myself!!!!) etc.. she says she’s thinking of taking me to agility or flyball classes, personally I’d prefer Salsa or something like but I’m told I have 2 left feet (of course I have & I’ve 2 right ones too …….I’m a dog). Well gotta go, lots of luv & big slobbery kisses to you all

These two pictures were taken at the sanctuary.
Thomas and Jeremy were brought to us by a kind member of the public who was concerned for their safety. They had been seen running from house to house,  desperately seeking a friendly face. They were in a very distressed state when they arrived at the Sanctuary. Obviously, for whatever reason they were no longer wanted. Thomas was the first to find a loving home. Jeremy stayed with us for a while after but eventually the right person walked through our gate and fell in love with him.  We were so happy for Jeremy when he walked out of our gate with his new owner.
Jeremy now called Hooch in his garden with his ball.
I'd say he looks much happier, wouldn't you?.

Revel

Words by Revel's new owner:

We are so happy that we adopted Revel. We love him to bits. As you can see
by one of the pictures he has made a friend. He's made lots actually. He is
so playful and everyone loves him. He came to the sanctuary and was known as
Alfie but now he is Revel. We came to Scruffs Dog Show and he won most
handsome 1st prize and 2nd prize for best dog in show!!!!! We love him to
bits and he has had a VERY happy ending thats why we wanted him on your
page!!!

Joe came to us at only 6 months of age when his owners no longer wanted him. During his birth Joe had been deprived of oxygen, leaving him with brain damage. This manifests itself by Joe falling to one side when he gets excited. He is in no pain and does not need any medication.  He lives life to the full and is a very happy boy. Needless to say he is adored by his new owners.
Words by Ebony's new owners:
We have had Ebony 7 months now so thought you may like to see a few pics of her. She loves going to the coast, running on the beach and swimming but I think her favourite place is sniffing around in the woods. She's a great dog and we have no regrets that we adopted her.

My name was Emily now Holly i left you in April 06. I just wanted to send you some pics of me living the exotic life drinking coconut juice and relaxing on the sofa. Well it's not like you can do proper sunbathing in this weather, can you? I did have a bad elbow but im a lot lot better now thanks to tablets from the vet.
Lots of licks from Holly x

Words by Badgers new owner:

She is a fabulous little dog, clever, loyal, eager to learn and well behaved. She loves her walks and lying in front of the fire! She loves people, and is very fond of my 93 year old gran, who has a soft spot for her too!She is a very pretty dog, and I often get stopped by people who want to know what breed she is and where I got her from! - I think she is a great advert for
rescue dogs. I just wanted to email you and say thanks, and to let you know how pleased we are with her, and I think she is quite pleased to be here too! I have attached a few recent photos for you.

Words by Buffy's new owner:
Just can't resist taking photos of my baby....I think she is the most beautiful dog ever - but then I am bias!
Whilst out on fund-raising events people often ask us why we do what we do. Our reply, without hesitation....
